<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>The article investigates the value of canagliflozin in the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus from the perspective of a clinically-based patient-centred approach. It focusses on the outcomes of a 52-week double-blind, active-controlled study. The results of this clinical trial demonstrate that canagliflozin, which provides significant weight loss ability, improves the quality of life and satisfaction with physical and emotional health in patients with diabetes compared with sitagliptin.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>ингибиторы натрий-глюкозного ко-транспортера</kwd><kwd>канаглифлозин</kwd><kwd>ситаглиптин</kwd><kwd>качество жизни</kwd><kwd>ассоциированное с весом</kwd><kwd>влияние веса на качество жизни</kwd><kwd>опросник для оценки удовлетворенности состоянием здоровья</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>SGLT-2 inhibitors</kwd><kwd>canagliflozin</kwd><kwd>sitagliptin</kwd><kwd>Health Related Quality of Life (HRQoL)</kwd><kwd>Impact of Weight on Quality of Life-Lite (IWQOL-Lite)</kwd><kwd>Current Health Satisfaction Questionnaire (CHES-Q)</kwd></kwd-group><funding-group><funding-statement xml:lang="ru">компания Янссен</funding-statement></funding-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">Williamson DA, Rejeski J, Lang W, et al.
