а-Липоевая кислота в настоящее время является одним из самых эффективных средств для лечения периферической полинейропатии у больных СД. Ее использование наряду с достижением компенсации углеводного обмена в относительно короткие сроки приводит к уменьшению проявлений полинейропатии, что сказывается на улучшении общего самочувствия больных и качестве их жизни. Через месяц лечения отмечается положительная динамика со стороны объективных показателей, в частности, тенденция к восстановлению вибрационной чувствительности. Курсовое лечение а-липоевой кислотой можно рекомендовать всем больным СД с проявлениями ДПН. Оптимальный курс внутривенного введения Берлитиона" составляет 15-20 инъекций.
