Диабетическая ретинопатия (ДР) является главной причиной слепоты во всех странах мира. Главными факторами в развитии этогомикрососудистого осложнения при сахарном диабете (СД) являются хроническая гипергликемия и артериальная гипертензия. За по-следние годы проведено несколько международных многоцентровых исследований по изучению влияния интенсивного контроля гликемиии артериальной гипертензии на возникновение и прогрессирование ДР у больных СД 1 и 2 типа. Приводятся данные исследований DCCT,UKPDS, DIRECT, ADVANCE (AdREM).

Diabetic retinopathy (DR) is a main cause of blindness throughout the world, with chronic hyperglycemia and arterial hypertension being the keycontributors to the development of this microvascular complication. A few international multicentre studies have recently been conducted to assesseffect of intensive control of glycemia and AH on the development and progress of DR in type 1 and 2 DM patients. Results of DCCT, UKPDS,DIRECT, ADVANCE, and AdREM studies are reviewed.
