По данным Всемирной организации здравоохранения в настоящее время на планете насчитывается около 220 млн. больных СД, и их число прогрессивно растет. СД оказывает негативное влияние практически на все системы организма человека, в том числе и мочеполовую. С одной сто- роны, вследствие декомпенсации углеводного обмена у пациен- тов с СД развиваются нейропатия и васкулопатия, приводящие, прежде всего к функциональным нарушениям, с другой ? СД является фоном для развития инфекционно-воспалительных за- болеваний мочеполовой системы. К типичным нейрогенным и ва- скулогеным осложнениям СД относятся эректильная дисфунк ция (ЭД), нарушения эякуляции и диабетическая цистопатия. К ин- фекционно-воспалительным заболеваниям, развивающимся на фоне СД, относятся пиелонефрит, цистит и баланопостит.
